Christofle Gallia Silver-Plated Champagne & Wine Cooler / Ice Bucket – 1950–1960
This beautiful, high-quality Christofle Gallia silver-plated Champagne and wine ice bucket was crafted by the renowned French silversmith Christofle. The piece dates from the mid-20th century and belongs to the distinguished Gallia collection, which is no longer in production.
Christofle discontinued the Gallia line years ago; today, it is replaced by the prestigious Malmaison collection—whose simplest ice bucket starts at over €1000. This makes the Gallia models increasingly sought-after and collectible.
The bucket features elegant side handles with foliate detailing. The silver plating is in excellent condition—even, bright, with no dents—and all signs suggest that it was likely never used for chilling wine or Champagne, serving instead as a decorative piece. When inspected closely, only fine micro-scratches can be seen, which are consistent with age. The interior is exceptionally clean. Heavy and solid, this is a high-quality Christofle piece.
