Large vintage 1970s Piper (Heidsieck) Reims Champagne advertising ashtray. Lovely deep burgundy ceramic ashtray by one of the oldest and most iconic of Champagne houses (1785), Advertising items are always collectible and this really has a touch of elegance about it with the geometric gold font. Made for the French champagne house by Rouge Fontaine Baudour – Belgium.
This is nice chunky size, maybe for cigars? Ashtrays used as ashtrays are no longer really fashionable so this would make a great item to put sweets in on a bar, for keys etc or for display.
In nice age related condition, with no chips or cracks.
