Két eredeti Grafé Lecocq Namur pezsgőhűtő veder a belgiumi Namur városában működő, 1879-ben alapított Grafé Lecocq bor- és pezsgőház számára készítve. A ház Belgium egyik legismertebb borkereskedője, amely hosszú története során elnyerte a belga királyi udvar hivatalos szállítói címét is.
A vederek alumíniumból készültek, letisztult, funkcionális formatervezéssel. Elülső oldalukon az eredeti Grafé Lecocq – Namur márkajelzés látható, két oldalsó fogantyújuk pedig megkönnyíti a mozgatást és a szervírozást. Eredetileg egy-egy palack pezsgő vagy bor jéggel történő hűtésére szolgáltak éttermekben, bárokban és ünnepi rendezvényeken.
A Grafé Lecocq különlegessége nem csupán a több mint 145 éves története. A vállalat borait Namur citadellája alatt húzódó egykori villamosalagutakban érleli, ahol egész évben állandó 11 °C hőmérséklet és 90%-os páratartalom biztosít ideális körülményeket. Az érleléshez használt pincék összesen mintegy 1200 francia tölgyfahordó befogadására alkalmasak. A lassú oxigéncsere révén a borok itt nyerik el végső egyensúlyukat, aromáikat és karakterüket.
Palackozás után a borok Namur történelmi központja alatt, a Saint-Aubain-székesegyház és az Igazságügyi Palota alatti, több mint 500 méter hosszú pincékbe kerülnek. A természetes módon hűvös, sötét és jól szellőző járatokban egyes évjáratok akár évtizedeken át pihennek. A ház gyűjteményében ma is találhatók több mint 50 éve érlelt palackok.

A pair of original Grafé Lecocq Namur champagne coolers produced for the renowned Belgian wine and champagne merchant Grafé Lecocq, founded in Namur in 1879. Over its long history, the company has become one of Belgium’s most respected wine houses and has been granted the prestigious title of supplier to the Belgian Royal Court.
Crafted from aluminium, these coolers feature a clean and functional design. Each bears the original Grafé Lecocq – Namur badge on the front and is fitted with two side handles for easy carrying and service. They were originally intended to chill a single bottle of champagne or wine with ice in restaurants, bars, and special events.
What makes Grafé Lecocq particularly interesting is not only its history but also its remarkable cellars. The company ages its wines beneath the Citadel of Namur in former tramway tunnels, where a constant temperature of 11°C (52°F) and humidity of 90% create ideal conditions for maturation. These underground cellars can accommodate approximately 1,200 French oak barrels. The slow interaction between the wine and the wood allows the wines to develop balance, complexity, and their characteristic bouquet.
After bottling, the wines are transferred to another historic cellar network located beneath Saint Aubain Cathedral and the Palace of Justice in the heart of Namur. Stretching for more than 500 metres (1,640 ft), these naturally cool, dark, and well-ventilated cellars provide perfect conditions for long-term storage. Some rare vintages remain there for decades, and the house still maintains bottles that have been maturing for more than 50 years.
These vintage coolers are therefore more than simple advertising pieces. They are connected to one of Belgium’s most fascinating wine traditions and to a company that continues to preserve and mature its wines in historic underground tunnels and cellars beneath the city of Namur.
The coolers remain in good vintage condition, showing only minor signs of age and use consistent with their period.
