Comtes de Champagne – Champagne Taittinger, Reims – antik hatású francia bronz dísztál – ELADÓ

Vintage francia bronz dísztál a világhírű Champagne Taittinger pezsgőház történelmi emblémájával.

A masszív, részletgazdag bronzöntvény központi motívuma IV. Thibaud (1201–1253), Champagne grófja és Navarra királya, középkori lovagi öltözetben, lóháton, karddal és pajzzsal. A domborművet körben a CHAMPAGNE TAITTINGER – REIMS felirat övezi.

IV. Thibaud és a Taittinger pezsgőház története

IV. Thibaud a 13. századi Franciaország egyik jelentős történelmi alakja volt: uralkodó, keresztes lovag, költő és trubadúr. Személye különleges helyet foglal el Champagne történelmében.

A Taittinger pezsgőház hagyománya szerint Thibaud egy 1239-ben indult szentföldi keresztes hadjáratáról hazatérve a Chardonnay szőlőfajta elődjének tartott szőlővesszőket hozott magával. Bár ez történelmi legenda, a pezsgőház identitásának meghatározó részévé vált.

A Taittinger ezért választotta IV.

An exceptional vintage French bronze decorative plaque featuring the historic emblem of the prestigious Champagne Taittinger house of Reims, France.

This substantial, finely detailed bronze casting depicts Thibaut IV (1201–1253), Count of Champagne and King of Navarre, mounted on horseback in medieval attire, carrying a sword and shield. The raised relief is surrounded by the inscription CHAMPAGNE TAITTINGER – REIMS.

Thibaut IV and the History of Champagne Taittinger

Thibaut IV was one of the most prominent figures of 13th-century France: a ruler, crusader, poet, and troubadour whose legacy remains closely connected to the Champagne region.

According to a longstanding tradition celebrated by the Taittinger Champagne house, Thibaut returned from his crusade to the Holy Land with vine cuttings believed to be associated with the origins of Chardonnay. Although this account is regarded as a historical legend rather than a proven fact, it became an important part of the house’s heritage and identity.

Taittinger adopted the medieval equestrian seal of Thibaut IV as one of its most recognizable emblems. The same historic imagery is associated with the house’s prestigious Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, first created in 1952 and produced exclusively from Chardonnay grapes.

This bronze plaque beautifully reflects the historical traditions and cultural heritage of one of France’s most celebrated Champagne houses.
