Alkotásait többek között a New York-i MoMA és a londoni Tate Modern is bemutatta.

A La Grande Dame története
A La Grande Dame a Veuve Clicquot évjáratos csúcscuvée-je, amelyet Barbe-Nicole Clicquot-Ponsardin (1777–1866), a champagne-ház történetének meghatározó alakja tiszteletére hoztak létre.
Madame Clicquot 1805-ben, mindössze 27 évesen vette át a vállalkozás irányítását. Jelentős szerepet játszott a champagne-készítés fejlődésében, többek között a pezsgők tisztítására szolgáló rázóállvány tökéletesítésében.
A La Grande Dame első, 1962-es évjáratát 1972-ben, a pezsgőház alapításának 200. évfordulóján mutatták be.

A 2012-es évjárat
A 2012-es év Champagne vidékén nehéz tavaszi időjárással, fagyokkal és jégesőkkel kezdődött, amelyet meleg, napos nyár követett. A kedvező érési körülmények végül jó minőségű, koncentrált szőlőt eredményeztek.

Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2012 – Yayoi Kusama Limited Edition Champagne, Original Gift Box, 750 ml

The Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2012 limited edition was created in collaboration with renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Released in 2020, this special edition features the artist’s signature polka dots and floral motifs on both the bottle and its presentation box.
Yayoi Kusama (1929–2026) was one of the most influential figures in contemporary art. Her paintings, sculptures and immersive mirror installations are internationally recognised. Recurring themes in her work include colourful dots, repetitive patterns and the concept of infinity. Her creations have been exhibited at major institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and Tate Modern in London.
The colourful flower decorating the presentation box symbolises vitality and the celebration of life, while the golden polka dots evoke champagne bubbles. Kusama previously collaborated with Veuve Clicquot in 2006, when she reinterpreted a portrait of Madame Clicquot in her distinctive artistic style.

The History of La Grande Dame
La Grande Dame is Veuve Clicquot’s prestige vintage cuvée, created in honour of Barbe-Nicole Clicquot-Ponsardin (1777–1866), one of the most important figures in the history of the Champagne House.
Madame Clicquot took over the business in 1805 at just 27 years old. She played a significant role in the development of champagne production, particularly in perfecting the riddling table used to clarify champagne.
The first La Grande Dame vintage, from 1962, was introduced in 1972 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of Veuve Clicquot.

The 2012 Vintage
The 2012 growing season in Champagne began with challenging weather conditions, including spring frosts and hailstorms, followed by a warm, sunny summer. Favourable ripening conditions ultimately produced grapes of excellent quality and concentration.
La Grande Dame 2012 is composed of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, with a dosage of 6 g/L (Brut).
Its aromatic profile reveals white flowers, jasmine, pear and peach, complemented by subtle almond and toasted notes. On the palate, it offers fresh acidity, fine bubbles, mineral character and a long finish.
